Capgemini was founded in the year 1967 when it was established as an organization called of Sogeti by Serge Kampf in France. It was a specialist in providing enterprise management services and data processing. It bought Gemini Computer Systems in the United States in 1974. The company has gone through several mergers and changes in name however, it is currently called Cap Gemini.
In in 2000 Ernst and Young Consulting was bought in 2000 by Cap Gemini and its consulting service was upgraded. The company bought Kanbay in 2006, which enabled it to expand into India. It also bought iGate in 2015 to increase its global outsourcing services.
